He is the Managing Director and Group Chief Financial Officer at JM Financial.
He began his journey with JM Financial in 2007 in the Investment Banking division, where he led several large and complex fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring transactions, primarily in the financial services sector.
After twelve years in Investment Banking, he moved to the Business Strategy and Investor Relations division of JM Financial Group, where he has been driving strategic initiatives, financial planning, debt raising (through private placement and public issues), restructuring, and the roll-out of new businesses. He has also played a key role in equity fundraising and other corporate actions. In addition, he leads the planning and raising of debt resources for JM Financial Group and oversees the Group’s treasury investments. He is a member of the Asset Liability Management Committee (ALCO) of JM Financial Group.
In 2019, he was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer of JM Financial Products Limited, a Non-Banking Financial Company, where he heads financial planning, accounting, borrowing, and treasury functions. He is also a member of both the Asset Liability Management Committee and the Risk Management Committee of JM Financial Products Limited.
His career began as an industrial trainee at Citibank NA in 2003–04 in the bank’s Financial Planning and Analysis division. In December 2004, he joined Morgan Stanley as an analyst in the Investment Banking division, where he worked with teams across Asia, Europe, and the US on large fundraising and M&A transactions in the media and telecom sectors. He also completed a rotation program at Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking offices in London.
He is a rank holder Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Mumbai University (2003) and a rank holder Chartered Accountant (2004) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has also successfully completed the Chief Financial Officer Programme from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
